It is recommended that students complete English 8.

Description

English 9 consists of three modules. Modules 1 and 6 are compulsory. Students choose one module from a list of the remaining four modules. Each module has five sections and a module test. The modules are thematic and focus on elements of literature including a novel, and a combination of short stories, folk tales, poetry, or a play.

Module choices must be made at time of registration

The questions found in the self-marking activities, the send-in activities and the tests emphasize thinking skills as well as content recall.

A Supplemental Language Activity Booklet will be sent out by the instructor to students who require additional language assistance.

Requirements

Print-based: Use of an audio tape recorder is compulsory for listening and public speaking. There is also an optional video component. To obtain the video tapes, students must complete a rental form and pay a deposit. A video tape recorder is required for the tapes obtained from SIDES.
