WHITECROW VILLAGE FASD SOCIETY is committed to educating communities and professionals, and to improving the lives of those who are affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Whitecrow Village core programs offer credible (experiential) training, support, and guidance in areas of Community & Family Stability, Education (including programs for Schools & Teachers), Addictions Recovery, Interdependent Living (housing), and Employment. You would be representing SIDES, meeting with students from all over Canada, discussing issues, and touring Ottawa with the Encounters Canada Program. The cost will be $465, which includes all costs: flights, travel, accommodation, food, touring, and special events. Many students from the Victoria area have enjoyed this opportunity.What is Encounters with Canada?
Encounters with Canada is a one-week program of Canadian studies held at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre, in Ottawa. From September to May, more than 138 high school students per week, aged 14 to 17 will come from across the country to our nation's capital for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The program week is divided into two parts. The first part of the week will focus on Canadian institutions and include visits to the House of Commons and the Senate, a guided tour of the National Capital Region, and modules. The second part of the week will be organized around one of our twelve themes:

- Business & Entrepreneurship
- Canada Remembers
- Ecology & Environment
- International Affairs
- Journalism & Communications
- Law
- Medicine & Health
- Politics in Canada
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police
- Science & Technology
