This reputation is based on the belief all students can experience learning success when given the appropriate tools and support. A keystone to this belief is our outstanding teachers who know how children learn, are able to effectively use technology, and provide a personalized learning experience for all students. Their expertise, combined with newly revised curriculum and an array of online learning tools, makes SIDES the choice for K-12 distributed learning. As we enter our twenty-second year of DL, we are excited about the improvement in our ability to interact with students.
I have been an educator for twenty-three years and involved in online education for the past seventeen years. My experience has provided a thorough understanding of the benefits of technology in the teaching and learning process. Having graduated from an online Masters Program (Master of Arts in Learning and Technology), I have had the experience of being both an online educator and student.
Our sixty-two dedicated and experienced staff members continuously reflect upon our learning activities and how we can improve our program. It is a privilege to be a part of this team. Our online program continues to challenge students, providing them with flexible and innovative learning options creating a dynamic learning community. Student engagement, increased assessment opportunities and a higher completion rate are a few areas we will be focusing on this year.
