Join us for two days of workshops taught by SIDES students, using the LEGO Mindstorms NTX 2.0 robotics kits.
Day 1: Build and program a robotic base
Day 2: Build a ball-shooter and program your robot
Grades 4-5
- Day 1: 10am-12pm on Wednesday, February 29th
- Day 2: 10am-12pm on Wednesday, March 7th
Grades 6 -12
- Day 1: 10am-12pm on Thursday, February 23rd
- Day 2: 10am-12pm on Thursday, March 1st

SIDES student in Regional Spelling Bee
SIDES Grade 8 student, Julia Fischer, qualifies for Times Colonist Regional Spelling Bee to be held at the University of Victoria on February 25th.

Congratulations to Dylan, a grade 7 SIDES student!
Dylan enrolled with SIDES in the Fall of 2011 to enable him to pursue his passion for acting. He began acting at the age of six and since this time has been involved in a variety of productions. Dylan spends a lot of his time travelling back and forth to Vancouver to complete auditions and acting roles. SIDES’ flexible online and individualized program allows Dylan to complete his grade 7 courses at his own time and pace throughout his busy weeks. Most recently, Dylan can be seen in the new ABC drama series, Once Upon a Time.

Virtual Science Fair
The Virtual Science Fair is here again! The Canada Wide Virtual Science Fair is an annual online science and technology contest open to all Canadian students in grades K-12.
Registration is open now and projects are due April 5, 2012.
Students, individually or in teams, create a science related project then build a website to display their work. The science project may take a variety of forms including experiments, research studies, demonstrations, models, and construction projects.
