Summer Session

SIDES Summer session offers you a different way to get ahead with your high school credits and catch up with coursework you may have missed. Unlike many summer school classes, where you're required to attend mandatory day-long classes, SIDES summer session work is completed online, at your convenience. Many of our students work over the summer and complete their coursework in the evenings and on weekends. To better support our students' post-work study habits, SIDES will be open until 8 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Create Your Own Original Robot!

Where? Beaver lake S.I.D.E.S Campus 
When? From 10am-12pm Monday June 10, 17 and 24.
Who can sign up? Any SIDES student in grades 8 through 12
Why come? Learn the fundamentals of the process that real engineers go through and experience the satisfaction it brings.
- The Lego Mindstorms robotics system allows you to build whatever kind of robot you can imagine.
- At these weekly workshops you will be guided through the process of learning to make a robot and make it do exactly what you want it to do.
- No prior experience is necessary, but if you have worked with Mindstorms before, you will be able to build on what you already know.
- There will be a series of challenges and you can take as long as you want to accomplish them.
- These challenges will range from navigating a maze or building a ‘battlebot’ to building a robotic machine that sorts Lego bricks by colour.
- You can also come up with your own idea and be guided through making that dream a reality.
The possibilities are endless!

All Provincials Exams are designed to be completed within two hours. However, students may choose to use an additional 60 minutes to complete their exams.

Are you planning on attending a Post-Secondary Institution (PSI)?
If so, you will need to send a copy of your official transcript to your chosen post secondary institution to process your application. The Ministry of Education provides you with an opportunity to have your transcripts automatically sent to the institutions of your choice for NO FEE. This is the only time your transcripts will be available free of charge.
Students access the online form by logging into the Student Secure Web (SSW), https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/, and clicking the menu option "Post Secondary Institutions Selections". Click here for more information.
