Description

German 12 is the third part of a three year program of German Language studies.

You will be using a German Language program developed in Germany by Deutsche Welle. Course contents and course structure have been developed in accordance with the Common European Framework and have taken the specifications for the language proficiency levels A1, A2 and B1 into consideration. Authentic videos, slideshows and audio texts convey a vibrant picture of life in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Vocabulary and grammar are introduced in an activity-oriented manner and consolidated in a variety of exercises.

When you have completed German 12 successfully, you have reached the B1.1 Proficiency Level. You will be able to produce simple connected text on familiar topics, describe dreams and hopes, and you can give reasons and explanations for plans and opinions. In German 12 you will continue to master your ability in reading and listening comprehension, as well as written and oral communication. In addition, you would be able to prepare for the German Language Proficiency Exam Level I offered by the German Government. This exam is offered only once a year and it can be taken through SIDES with an accredited DSD school. Examination parts include reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written composition, as well as oral communication. This exam provides proof of German language proficiency required for admission to many post-secondary institutions such as Studienkollegs in Germany. You will be able to receive 4 external credentials after successfully completing this exam.
