It is recommended that students complete English 11 or equivalent.
Join us in English Literature 12 Online, a course developed jointly by SIDES and Surrey Connect. We will explore some of the most significant literature in the history of the English language, reading selections ranging from Beowulf, a poem likely composed sometime in the eighth century, to poetry by contemporary writers such as Margaret Atwood. In between, we’ll explore the works of the best known writers of English literature, including Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton, Swift, Pope, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats, Tennyson and Eliot. The lessons are designed so that you can read, listen to, learn about and study in depth the selected poems and prose in this course. We encourage your intellectual and aesthetic responses to the works studied, and offer a variety of assignments and activities to demonstrate your learning.
The course consists of six units and four tests.
