Math 08
Teacher(s)
Dave Evans
Prerequisite
Math 7
Description
The course builds on concepts from previous grades and introduces new skills. Skills include: working with 2-D and 3-D objects; creating tessellations; understanding and calculating squares and square roots; solving problems with the Pythagorean Theorem; understanding statistical graphs, working with linear equations including graphing and solving; multiplying and dividing fractions; working with percent; and calculating the probability of independent events.
Mathematics 8 consists of four modules with three sections in each module. Students send in an assignment at the end of each section, and each module has a module test or optional module project. The course has been written to include several media pieces such as demonstration videos and interactive media.
